Shorebird Pottery now available

My family goes to the Outer Banks every year and we love to watch the Sanderlings (a type of Sandpiper) run back and forth in the tidal zone. I took this video from one of our recent trips and used it to create my Shorebird pottery line.

My name is Chellie LaPointe and I am a North Carolina based potter. I create hand-thrown and hand-painted pottery inspired by the wildlife around my home in the rural North Carolina piedmont.

I am a life-long birder and enjoy capturing the spirit and character of wild birds in my whimsical illustrations. My pots are hand thrown and then decorated in a process that involves carving, painting, staining and glazing, which is all done in my home studio. Each pot is thoughtfully designed and individually handmade.

I also own and operate Red Mountain Farm, a seasonal cut flower farm on our property in Rougemont, NC.
